Jade Cat

January 3rd, 2024

This was my very first "real" (non-practice) render in Bryce 4. The backstory is, I was tricked by an AI-generated image on a jigsaw puzzle site, and it made me so mad I started learning Bryce. I'm very fond of this image, but everything can be improved upon.

same image as above, but the rings are gone and the cat is now made of polished jade rather than carved.

Jade Cat Take 2

January 4th, 2024

After sleeping on it, I decided that I wanted the cat to look as though it had been polished. After a little messing around with booleans and materials, I'm quite happy with the result. The rings were removed because they kept getting in the way.

a 3D rendered image of a small glass sphere floating inside of some stone structures. different colored lights shine through the glass onto the stone. there is no ground visible, and the sky is full of stars.

Glass Suspended

January 4th, 2024

Practice with the lighting in Bryce, as well as glass materials.

a 3D rendered image of a small, square island with a checkerboard pattern in a purple ocean. there is a wooden spiral staircase in the middle, going beyond the top of the image. in the center of the spiral are three metal spheres in different pastel colors. beside the staircase are a few palm trees.

Stairway to Heaven, or Something Like it

January 4th, 2024

I had a vision of a checkerboard island inhabited by palm trees and floating metal spheres, and made it a reality. The staircase invited itself.

a digital drawing of Lloyd and Pythor from Ninjago. Lloyd is a child. Pythor has blue scales on his face and green on his tail. they are smiling at each other.

Nothing to Hide

January 5th, 2024

This is a piece of Ninjago fanart, and also my first Procreate drawing! It's also part of my Elemental Serpentine AU over on Tumblr. The AU is still very much a work in progress, but I'm quite happy with how this image came out.

Zane from Ninjago drawn into a 3D rendered image of a number of spheres made of different materials floating in the sky above a pale blue ocean. A mossy stone ring also floats nearby, and Zane is sitting in it. He is wearing an ankle-length white sundress. He has an expression of wonder.

Strange Open Sea

More Ninjago fanart! For this one, I drew Zane overtop of a Bryce render. I'm quite pleased with how it came out.

a 3D rendered image of metal and mossy stone rings floating above a multicolored ocean. the bright yellow sun can be seen in the sky.

Metal and Stone

January 5th, 2024

This was a practice Bryce render, but I liked it so much I decided to share it. Hey, look, the sun!

Cole and Zane from Ninjago drawn into a 3D rendered image of an upside-down cone floating above a lake surrounded by snowcapped mountains. Zane and Cole are sitting on the flat part of the cone, kissing. Zane is wearing an ankle-length white sundress and Cole is wearing an ankle-length orange tube dress with black fringe. there is a giant yellow sun setting behind them.

Sunset Kiss

What else, more Ninjago fanart! I love these two so goshdarn much, and I love Bryce renders. As for rendering my 2D art, I love that less so.

Jay from Ninjago drawn into a 3D rendered image of a squashed blue and purple striped sphere floating above a lake surrounded by mossy mountains. Jay is wearing a suit with a blue tie, and he has a nervous expression. Beyond the mountains are dozens of skyscapers that extend beyond the top of the image.

Suit Jay in a Situation

January 30th, 2024

Even more Ninjago, this time featuring Jay in his Dragons Rising suit and tie. A lot of my friends who watch this show are VERY into this outfit of his, so this is sort-of dedicated to them. Also, I've realized that I wasn't rendering my 2D art in a way I enjoyed or liked the look of, so I changed it and now I enjoy doing it just as much as 3D renders.
