Playscene Version Switcharoo
This is a Python script that will automatically switch any playscene made in the Playscene Editor between Petz 4 and Petz 5. It is not compatible with playscenes not made in the in-game editor.
To use the script, make sure you have the latest version of Python installed. Place the .env file you wish to convert into the same folder as the script ("switcharoo.py"). Double-click the script file and follow the instructions. This script shouldn't modify the original file in any way, but it's best practice to always work with copies of files, just in case.
Please note that when converting a playscene from Petz 5 to Petz 4, any sound effects will no longer play. I'm working on an update to the script that fixes this, but in the meantime, Middle Night hosts a utility that will fix it, under for you > programs. This utility is also useful for fixing playscenes made in the Petz 4 Playscene Editor that don't play sound effects, which is caused by a bug introduced by the patches to the game in the early 2000s.
